Endlich wieder #Snooker 🍾🥰

@Adrenochrome

What's your highest break Claudia?

@gsymon

I'm the worst player ever! 40 or so. ✌️😂

@Adrenochrome

Hey! 40 is pretty good! My highest was a 57.

I guess you're in there now? Have a great time. 😊

(I could use this one 🎱... but Americans, as ever, just don't have the right balls 🤭)

@Adrenochrome

Ha! That's excellent Claudia! So nice to be able to chat with some of the stars of a game you love.
Quite a lot of history with those 3.. and of the referees too.

Since I watch a lot of snooker, I'll now watch it while thinking ... 'Claudia will be watching this too'. 😃

@gsymon

Who is your favorite player?

@gsymon

The WST app (free) is helpful.

@Adrenochrome

Hmmm...

I'm a bit unusual as a sports fan. I'm not particularly 'tribal'. I don't mind who wins. What I love, is how they play. Their talent.

Currently, I'd say my favourite player is Luca. I sometimes let out cries of 'wow!' or 'what??' or 'fuckin' hell' ... *when I'm sitting watching on my own*. 😁

What about you?

@gsymon
Luca is incredible. ❤️
My all-time fav is Stephen Hendry—then John Higgins and Mark Williams, and... oh, so many. The only one I really dislike is Peter Ebdon. Watching paint dry is more exciting.
When in a German quiz show you are asked
"Where did Ronny O'Sullivan make more than 1000 centuries?".
a) Darts
b) Snooker
c) Bowling
I stopped watching quiz shows. 😂

@Adrenochrome

Well, I’m a Scotsman, so obviously I’d agree with your first two picks. I really enjoy Williams too.

I love watching Lisowski, when he’s on form.

Here’s a goody for you..
Higgins = 'The Wizard of Wishaw'. I call him, the 'Lizard of Wishaw'.
What % of his time at the table, is his tongue outside his mouth?

Back in time?
I used to like Cliff Thorburn and I *loved* watching Big Bill Werbeniuk get increasingly drunk, as the match went on. 😬😁 How many pints could he drink??

@gsymon

Lisowski is such a good player, I don't understand why he doesn't win more games..

The same with The Welsh Dragon, Matthew Stevens - he and Ronnie are the only players who can play both-handed.

My beloved Stephen should stop playing golf and ridiculous TV shows and go back to the table - I want to see Hendry 8th.

Photos: Good old times 🥰

@Adrenochrome

Didn't know about Hendry's tv shows. I have a sort of 'automatic invisbilator' when it comes to junk tv. I don't even see the images. Much like online ads ... all of which is kind of ironic, since I worked for years for ad/com agencies.

Golf OTOH... he's a Scotsman. It's in his genes, but like many sports for me, the Americanisation/Monetizeation has ruined it for me. 😞

Hendry 8th really would be something. 😊

Lisowski? Pressure. He cracks. Maybe with age he'll manage.

@Adrenochrome

Don't like? ...

Selby.. when he used to use his Djokovic tactic of sloooooooow play, to get his opponent off their game. He’s largely given in to criticism though.

Ali Carter, just isn’t liked. He’s not very nice.

@gsymon

Ah.
Djokovic.
Big Dislike.
Tennis is absolutely not my sport, but I was Team Nadal.

I'm unsure what to think about Ali Carter. He is very ill, and it's a miracle he can play on this level. I only know The Ronald is not his friend and will never be. But Ronnie is also, ah, difficult. I remember when he said about Stephen, "I will send him back to his poor little life."

@Adrenochrome

Carter's health probs are of course such a shame, as for anyone, but in the end, he just behaves not very nicely. Compare him to Chris Hoy. Same life problems, diametric opposites of personalities.

I've always liked this one of Ronnie 😁 He does go through the mill.

@gsymon

Ronnie is very special. 😂
And he loved to play Peter Ebdon. Not.
Do you remember Quinten Hann?

@Adrenochrome

My snooker history has a bit of a 'bump' in it. I lived in London for ~13yrs, then moved to Paris in ~'93.

From my 5th floor apartment near Sacré Coeur, I could *just* receive BBC Radio4 via long-wave. This was broadcast from SE England. Amazing really.

Other than that.. nothing was available. What different times we live in today.

So watching snooker only returned when the Beeb, starting broadcasting via the internet. So a long period of no snooker. 😟

@gsymon

The best thing on the BBC Snooker is John Virgo. God, I love his voice. And his signature sentence, "I try to figure out where the cue ball is going...".

@Adrenochrome

Virgo's good. Dennis Taylor's really good too (Irish) and Alan McManus has a good Scots accent too.

Do you watch snooker on the Beeb?

@gsymon

I watch on Eurosport, can't get BBC Sport here. However, I need to double-check it, as there have been numerous changes. I do not have pay tv, no Netflix, no Amazon Prime.

@gsymon

I heard Virgo when I was in The Crucible and had the headphones. And when I'm watching YouTube. Alan McManus is on Eurosport, I like him a lot!

@Adrenochrome

I’m starting to see a pattern here Claudia! I wonder.. did you ever like Sean Connery? 😄

@gsymon

I really loved him, but my fav is Roger Moore. And the all-time best Bond movie for me is "A View to a Kill". Duran Duran and Grace Jones 🥰

@Adrenochrome

I read this today and thought you might like it. Get back to playing! There's still time! 😁

@gsymon

Ha! I've never heard of her until 5 minutes ago! Thank you! 🎱
