MAGAs: Why won’t Muslims just assimilate to our country!?!

Muslims: [Get elected to office]

MAGAs: …Wait not like that

@QasimRashid for real, so sick of it.

@QasimRashid also white tech liberals. 😩

I am a white man, but I can read the Qur'án in Arabic, and I make good use of that. These losers think they're in good company and just say the most heinous shit. Worse still, just having a foot in both worlds, they're only repeating things they learned from South Park.

Doesn't take a PHD to go on Wikipedia and just read about these things they're threatening with sarcastic quips about "the religion of peace."

@mitch @QasimRashid ignorance comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, and religious texts.
@mitch I don't yet speak Arabic save for a few words, but I'm learning! I've visited Morocco, and everyone I met there was lovely. Plus, I've had many Muslim friends, particularly in college, from all over the world. @QasimRashid
@QasimRashid By “assimilate”, they mean “convert”.
@QasimRashid It was never about anyone meeting the bar.

@QasimRashid

Alternately:
MAGAs: New York is not part of our country.

@QasimRashid The existence of prominent progressive Muslims may make right-wing Christians look bad, when the public takes notice of which of the two groups bears more resemblance to Islamic extremists.
@QasimRashid assimilation == centrist dem 🙃
Hamtramck Mayor Amer Ghalib endorses Donald Trump, calling him a 'man of principles'

The mayor of Hamtramck, a city in Michigan that's roughly half Muslim, endorsed Donald Trump for president.

Detroit Free Press
@riedlr @QasimRashid what does it say about someone if he thinks drump has principles?

@QasimRashid

Just like whites assimilated into the Native American's lands.

@QasimRashid

Ouch... that what hurts 😂

@QasimRashid false dichotomy. Just because one is elected to office does not inherently mean they have assimilated with the country's culture. They could, in fact, intend to utilize this position of power to expel those in the country to then propagate their own culture, perhaps.
@spencercmd @QasimRashid
I suppose that is how the racists and Islamophobes would see it. But they're pieces of shit, and no one cares what they think about anything 😃

@me_valentijn @QasimRashid

im not sure how accurate that is. If someone questions your allegiance and ability to assimilate to a culture, they're a racist islamophobe? While that is certainly true for some, perhaps it isn't so linear.

@spencercmd @me_valentijn @QasimRashid Like you Americans, you boast as you know about racism better than "backward Europeans" and then justify racism and Islamophobia, congratulations on the lack of self-criticism 👍

@spencercmd @QasimRashid

You mean like the German Trump family that are doing just precisely this?

Utilising "this position of power to expel those in the country to then propagate their own culture, perhaps."

In this case their culture being Nazism.

@the_wub @QasimRashid

not really Nazism. Trump's agenda is a nationalist agenda and has similarities with Nazism since Nazism was primarily German Nationalism with some Eugenics and Genocide sprinkled in.

@spencercmd @the_wub @QasimRashid Hitler was inspired by America, so the USA is complicit

@Gryficowa @spencercmd @QasimRashid

Actually a symbiotic relationship going back and forth. This article explains where the Great Orange One got the idea to deport citizens from their country of origin.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-grandfather-germany-letter-deportation-us-bavaria-dreamers-a7903071.html

This is interesting as Bavaria was the hotbed of Nazism from the 1920s onwards. Antisemitic ideas of the underclass were prevalent in Europe over the preceding centuries so all the basic tenets of Nazism were in place well before Hitler gave it the name "Nazism".

Donald Trump’s grandfather wrote letter begging not to be deported. Here it is | The Independent

'This is very, very hard for a family. What will our fellow citizens think if honest subjects are faced with such a decree'

The Independent
@the_wub @spencercmd @QasimRashid Trump has forgotten that the Nazis would never admit to being Nazi

@QasimRashid

because in their world - you're not assimilated if you stay muslim.

dead easy.

Be a christian fundamentalist, instead

:(

@Januschka @QasimRashid However, the problem is that some fanatical MAGA supporters don't actually represent Christian fundamentalism. That kind of satire uses identity politics or “religious freedom” to deflect criticism. But Muslim belief isn't entirely aligned with religious freedom—it's often the very opposite of it. Islam has produced far harsher legalism and terror than Christianity.
@QasimRashid assimilate means become servants to capitalist exploitation

@QasimRashid the American Dream is for a few, not for the many.

E pluribus unum is to them ‘all your money is mine.’

@QasimRashid
Assimilationo OR Aculturation ?

Anything else results in racism as I read some HERE.
