Hey #AllTrails, you know if you just:
- responded to my personal data download request in a timely manner.
OR
- provided a way for users to bulk download their data
OR
- provided a way for users to at least download all their GPS tracks in one batch
OR
- provided a public, properly rate limited and permissioned API endpoint.

I wouldn't have to scrape the absolute shit out of your site with numerous bot mitigation techniques, yoink your hard coded API tokens out of your android application, reverse engineer and automate the download of MY OWN DATA.

I have hundreds of hikes recorded, from the good old days. You know when your app was actually functional offline? When you actually properly recorded GPS positions? When you stuck to a few core features and did them well?

I'm planning on moving to #komoot but if anyone has any other suggestions I'm all ears. Unfortunately will continue to use AllTrails for trail updates and reviews... Assuming they don't ban my account for this... But I'm sick of their updates and don't like the direction the company is going.

In case anyone else runs into the same issue... Here's the #tampermonkey script I ended up with. Seems to work well enough, downloaded my couple hundred activities, but ymmv.

And I migrated all 200+ of my logged activities from AllTrails into #wanderer. Really awesome app, well done @flomp !

I'm very excited to have the last 5-6 years worth of trails and activities #selfhosted in my #homelab and not stuck in some vendor lock-in hellhole.

Really recommend checking it out if you're into #hiking and since you're on the #fediverse already.... Why not add one more platform to the collection. Very easy to stand up via docker.

Would be really interesting to see this grow into its own community, I could easily see a server for the #catskills or Southern #newyork being stood up.

Alrighty! And I think I've got all my trails planned and correctly tagged with waypoints for the #catskill3500 challenge in #wanderer

One of these days I'll open up and share the server links and reboost the posts when I get brave enough.

19 of the 33(/36) complete so far this year!
