@privateger i didn't realize this until like a few years ago that it's actually super easy to make fried rice at home. it's a great way to dress up leftover rice if you make too much
@jiub @privateger leftover rice? I usually make it when I have leftover protein or similar since rice is so easy to make
@Chloe @privateger @jiub yeah, leftover rice, because the rice needs to be dried out so that you can taste the grain itself
@gen @Chloe @privateger good point!

tho i wasn't even thinking of that lol, i often just have leftover rice because i made too much or i have leftover rice but not an accompanying dish from takeout

@gen @Chloe @privateger @jiub
freshly steamed rice (e.g. cooked using any decent rice cooker) is totally fine. It just shouldn't be soggy and the grains should separate neatly, otherwise you might end up with something more akin to Tahdig (which is super tasty as well)

I can recommend Kenji Lópes-Alt's literature on that topic (Food Lab, The Wok), or even just his YouTube channel

@privateger I don’t know, but we have to, it’s the next thing on the trans agenda

maybe we can bi a pan :3

@privateger  lmao, thats funny af
