For reading notifications and especially for composing, I think I prefer Ivory to Toot!. I tend to find something I like and stick with it, and I’ve been using Mona for a while; I forgot what a polished and beautiful app Ivory is, with really nice subtle touches that make it a pleasure to use. For example, I love that when I tap the # to add a hashtag, a list of the tags I’ve used most recently slides in, and then disappears as soon as the # is no longer the focus, like if I delete it or add a space after it. The sliding animation is really nice, too: it has a little spring in its step.

This makes me want to check in with other clients I’ve used and liked, to see how they’re coming along. Like Ice Cubes and Mammoth. #metadon
