Birthday party for #LilGamer today - Minecraft themed, at a local heritage farm, two hours of rustic fun with his schoolmates.

How many schoolmates? Unclear - I'm still getting RSVPs just a couple of hours ahead of the event 😬

Update: we only ended up with one extra set of attendees, so that worked out.

Event played out perfectly, without a hitch - #LilGamer had such a good time that he started crying when he realized the party was over. 🥲

Now, to start planning the next one for #GamerKid in September...

For parents: one trick I stumbled into was "have a plan for some unstructured play time."

We got to a point where all of the main activities had been exhausted - after finishing cake, we had about 20 minutes left.

I pulled out some Minecraft-themed masks that I couldn't fit in the loot bags...and the kids went wild with them. Steve was romancing Alex, creepers started chasing endermen - it was bedlam in the most joyous way.

Building that into all my party plans going forward.

@brakeoutgaming kids party RSVP etiquette is a disaster.

Soon as we get an invite I message them yes or no. It ain't hard.
