I am going to tell you that I'm just old enough to remember the last time we had this same stupid fucking war, and tell anyone under 30: Do not enlist in the military. They will ruin your life and they do not care. Please don't do it.

@wrrrdnrrrdgrrrl I was 23 when we did the first Iraq invasion. There was no draft at that time but I remember my mother’s relief when I turned 26 and aged out.

Of course I recall the BS in 2003 and it took us over 20 years to finish that up.

Jayzus, but I hate that we’re doing it again. And we’ll all get snookered the way we did last time as well.

@Bishopjoey @wrrrdnrrrdgrrrl The difference this time is trump dispensed with the coordinated theatrics that preceded the invasion of Iraq. That was old school media manipulation. Trump is not that creative and doesn't have the attention span to craft a multilayered appeal to the public to build up the threat. People were legitimately scared about WMD in Iraq. Every 20 something should not feel some patriotic duty to enlist after trump put zero effort into selling this war.
