We still use hogsheads etc occasionally in brewing and distilling (gallon, firkin, kilderkin, barrel, hogshead), horseracing is furlongs, miles for distance by road, but often km for map and compass work, ft/in for the height of a person or mountain, unless it's map and compass when the mountain is often in metres.

@Mazzo Not taken as such! Just a comment on the time NASA and Lockheed Martin worked in different units of thrust for the Mars Climate Orbiter (pound-force versus newton-seconds) and lithobraked instead of going into orbit.
