Al@N4JAW Jim, I have to wonder how much RFI you are getting from the charge controller. I know that mine is pretty noisy on certain freqs.
@aszy Your wonders are VALID. A LOT. I found that out during 2017 Field Day I just connected to get it to the FLOAT point and then disconnected when operating. This is my normal noise floor. The AC unit nearby didn't help either.
