In this week following Trinity Sunday, a good reminder that “the Trinitarian confession is not a matter of scholastic speculation but of Scriptural faith, nor is scholastic speculation and terminology required for saving faith in the Trinity.”

@GuyNamedBrian Great read! I agree with Waterland that understanding the Trinity doesn't require overcomplication - as St. Paul demonstrates it so well. It does seem almost self-evident that it is indeed quite accessible to ordinary believers.

I might have to keep Daniel Waterland on my radar and read some more of his works.

@adubya That blog, if you’re not already familiar with it, has good posts of this sort on a regular basis. The author is an Anglican priest in the Church of Ireland; he can be a tad conservative on certain points for my taste, but never in a nasty culture war sort of way. Usually always thought provoking and informative, even if I don’t always agree with certain details.

@GuyNamedBrian Where I live in Oklahoma, I think I can handle it 😆

I'll add it to my RSS reader, appreciate it.

@adubya I’m sure you can! 🤣 Oh, I also happen to know your bishop; he used to be a canon of the cathedral parish I’m a member of in Denver! [Bopping my head along to the tune of, “It’s a Small Church After All” 🤣 ] Actually, hard to say he’d remember me after this many years, but I remember him being a good guy and priest.
