I’m going to lobby for a Shortcuts-HomePod feature enhancement that I know will never be seen or implemented. I want to set a a HomePod volume level to an EXACT number using a Shortcut. My use case is an automation that resets my HomePod volume before I wake up so the NPR isn’t quite so loud, because I had louder music the evening before. #ios26 #apple #shortcuts #homepods

@DanMorgan I may be misunderstanding but, just in case: do you mean this?

Shortcuts

@atnbueno No I don’t think that’s doing what I want. I’m not trying to involve my iPhone volume or playback or anything.

I just want to set the audio volume of a HomePod to an exact number using a Shortcut, and not have to “set” the volume while building the shortcut using their slider. Instead of the slider I’d like to code in an integer to programmatically set the volume.

I’ll have that Shortcut run as a background automation before I get out of bed.

@DanMorgan I don’t have a HomePod so I put what I have 😅. Select your devices there instead. The #shortcut was to show you how to set a volume to exactly 25%.
@DanMorgan I also dislike this lack of precise control in the Home action. I am perfectly capable of eyeballing the slider, but I have presets for different listening levels. It’s all a little more or less loud, front and back, with no precise measure. It’s fine now, but aggravating at setup.
