Weekly GNU-like Mobile Linux Update (13/2026): Spring Cleaning

This past week: A PINE64 Community Update with (no actual?) news on a PinePhone 2, Phosh 0.54 release candidate tagged at Chemnitzer Linux-Tage 2026, postmarketOS announces archival of unmaintained devices after v26.06, first batch of Jolla Phone preorders ready to be completed, and way more. Collected in a city known for a famous tragedy. Enjoy!

LINux on MOBile
@linmob Importantly, @Liberux is on Mastodon! (And maybe only on Mastodon?! 😀)
@secbox @linmob
Mainly, yes — it's where things make the most sense for our community 😊

@linmob Great article. Very insightful. My favourite part was:

"We’re developing a dedicated daemon to manage power more efficiently—it will shut down and wake up CPU cores depending on load, adjust frequencies dynamically, and optimize idle performance."

I think they are on the right track in many (read most) ways. I hope they can make it a reality.

@linmob @Liberux Having a pinephone and librem5 already I also backed this project and I hope so much they succeed. These phones are the way I want mobile phones to be! #LinuxPhones #LiberuxNEXX #Liberux #madeinEU

Thank you so much for your support! It means a lot to see people like you believing in the future of Linux Phones. Let’s go forward together for a free, made-in-Europe phone! 🚀🖤

@linmob
@Liberux
I’m looking forward to playing with mine.

It may be interesting where people are coming _from_.

I’m currently on an iPhone (and coming from there, the price tag isn’t even thay shocking, but it’s nice to see where the money goes)

EDIT: And given the specs (and ethics), that is _very fair_ pricing. Hence my support 😁

@richardwonka @linmob
Thank you for your support! 🙌
The price reflects the hardware quality, modern components, and of course, the freedom-first approach.

@Liberux
I fully get that. #transparency is a great thing.

These things are well-priced indeed. - Especially since i can skip getting a new laptop next year when my MacBook enters #plannedobsolescence

@linmob Backed the project after reading this
@linmob
Thank you so much for the opportunity, Peter! 🙌
It was a pleasure to share more about the project.
