We all know the tricks with the "serving suggestion" photos on #food packaging, right? Same ingredients, but prepared by a professional chef - and then often coated in something to make 'em shiny, cotton pad dipped in boiling water for steam, the old glue instead of milk trick...

But this, from Mars' Ben's Original brand? Not only is that nothing like the contents of the pack, it doesn't actually exist. It's #AI generated.

@ghalfacree Also, IndoMee noodles are readily available, much cheaper, almost certainly better, and will definitely taste like Indonesian noodles.

in most towns there are Asian grocery stores and even mainstream supermarkets often have a "multicultural/world food" section, you can get the real Asian noodles there (I'm lucky that there are 3 such stores in my town and even Tesco have the more authentic brands - although they tend to come from the Netherlands rather than further East (well it is at least East of here 😁 )

@vfrmedia @anna @ghalfacree The Netherlands has a significant number of people of Indonesian heritage, due to colonial shite. “Made in the Netherlands” isn’t an immediate red flag for Indonesian stuff.

@feorag @anna @ghalfacree indeed, there's quite a high population there with ESEA ancestry, so there is a lot of SE Asian food made/distributed from NL (I can read Dutch fairly well, and often the first ingredients/nutritional listings on many packs are in Dutch rather than English)
