15 June 1990 saw the release of Poison Idea's punk masterpiece, Feel the Darkness.
After a decade in the trenches of the '80s hardcore scene, the Portland heavyweights perfected their rock/hardcore sound on their third full-length album, appropriately welcoming the '90s.

"[...] simply stated, their most blistering moment in the sun, a steamrolling mass of furious speed and aggression spitting out declamation after declamation against the world."

Jerry A. (vocals) on 'Just to Get Away':

"[...] this band Big Stick from New York, who're personal friends of mine. They kept saying, "why don't you write a song about cars and booze and girls, the American dream."
They kept bugging me, and Big Stick has a song on their record that mentions Poison Idea.
And the chorus of their song is "leaving in the morning, just to get away, just to get away."
So I ripped that off and wrote a song about that."

The infamous cover consisted of a heavily edited version of the back cover of Tiny Tim's debut God Bless Tiny Tim (1968), featuring a gun held to his head.

He later attempted to sue the band, but gave up after discovering they did not have any money.
