@Tutanota Same. Looking forward to replace it by #redux tho.
@Tutanota just a heads up: posts like these are terrible for users with screen readers. I've seen people use a content warning or just take a screenshot and add an image description.
@Pixdigit Thanks, didn't know that. Will keep this in mind for the future.
@Tutanota It's time to verify your apps on Flathub
@Tutanota I got my mom on Linux it's safer then win10/11 that logs every file even drives after you unplug them, I set her up with oprea browser on windows and installed the same browser on Linux so she knows how to use it, and she likes the organization of the menus it makes more sense and is a hell of a lot easier to find her games etc.
@Tutanota Of course you're not running your service on a bunch of Windows Server 2025 with Azure AD /j

@Tutanota Are you planning on offering different ways to install your app on Linux than an AppImage file?
Tuta is the only app that every time I start my Ubuntu I have to find and double click the tutanota-desktop-linux.AppImage file to start.

All other apps I use all the time I can start from the dock and then they start in the same position and with the same window size as I last used them.

Gibt schlimmeres, aber ich frag trotzdem mal. 🙂

@PaulaToThePeople You can also get it from Flathub - it's not the official version, but it works nicely.
@Tutanota Thanks. Gotta check that out. Never heard of Flathub.
@Tutanota So thanks, yeah the FlatHub version is quite nice.
@Tutanota I read your latest blog post regarding Instagram. You are absolutely right that a alternative is needed. However, the fact that you talk about Bluesky, Mastodon, and Pixelfed as the best alternatives while completely leaving out Nostr doesn't really fit with Tuta! I'm particularly concerned about Bluesky! Even Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Bluesky, has distanced himself from it and has been supporting Nostr for a while now.
I think you just haven't fully grasped this yet.
@Pug139 the same Dorsey who called X the "freedom technology" after leaving Bluesky? Probably not someone whose words I'd pay much attention to...

@whitecold he said that X could be a freedom technology if it would use open protocols.
Which they don't do at the moment.
He also said that X is more free compared to Meta for example.

But he is a Nostr Fan.
I follow him on Nostr for a longer time.
If you don't you shouldn't judge.

In my understanding, he just called X freedom technology in his post on X.

X being more free than Meta, that depends. Meta at least has some activity pub features enabled. I don't use either, because one is no better than the other in any regard.

I don't use Nostr either, because what I've learned about the creator's sentiments so far are things I strongly disagree with or am straight-up against.

jack (@jack) on X

don’t depend on corporations to grant you rights. defend them yourself using freedom technology. (you’re on one)

X (formerly Twitter)

@whitecold
"I don't use either, because one is no better than the other in any regard." Totally agree 👍

Everyone could be an Creator on Nostr.
So it depends who you follow.
Even porn is possible on Nostr, but you don´t have to watch it, it´s your decission.
Nostr is a platform for everyone.
Even Nazis will be on Nostr in the future.
It is on us to follow the good ones.
But as there is no algorythm on Nostr (depending on the app you´re using), the content must be good to achieve reach.
