@pluralistic Stay safe Cory! Looks like people are getting "activated".

@pluralistic Off-topic fun fact: The Hague is a city, and "The" is part of that city's name.

(And it's the city that houses the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, of course. And also the Dutch government.)

@VincentTunru @pluralistic Of course, you can also say – and write – 's-Gravenhage 😉
@pluralistic "German Problems / French Solutions" is kind of brilliant. [thunk]

Germans dont deserve this

@randomized @fitzscott @pluralistic Well, we (e.g. people like Carl Schmitt) provided the playbook.
@randomized @fitzscott @pluralistic We had such a problem and I’d had to be solved with a lot of outside help. Nasty experience, should not be repeated.

French Solutions turned into a real series of nightmares. First the aristocrats, for whom I shed no tears, and then anyone who didn't agree with various committees or eventually Robespierre. Then they got Napoleon. Maybe we save those solutions for just a bit.

@pluralistic German Problems, French Solutions. 🙌

My personal favorites from my local protest:

"ICE MELTS IN THE CALIFORNIA SUN"
"IF THIS WAS REALLY ABOUT GETTING RID OF CRIMINALS WHY DID YOU ELECT ONE AS PRESIDENT"
"I didn't say the words 'with liberty and justice for all' every fucking day just to watch this happen"
"WHY IS A DRAFT DODGER THROWING HIMSELF A MILITARY PARADE"

@pluralistic
Love the "He's treading" one!

@pluralistic

@pluralistic We had a few "chinga la migra" up here too.
