@sidereal I don't know if its the same in USA, but in Britain the private security industry is riddled through with a combination of folk who were either too sketchy to make the grade to become a genuine officer (there are certain right wing organisations that being a member of disqualifies people from joining the police and officers social media activity is monitored) or quit the constabulary because it has become "too woke" (eg they can no longer stop people as easily for driving whilst black/brown, although they don't have to as ANPR feeds the officers with plenty of valid info and the bulk of bad/dangerous drivers are middle aged white British men, which also might be why many cops are quitting as they don't like having to nick their own kind)
