- pretty much everyone agreed it's shit and not worth it and Nintendo is a shit company
- millions bought it anyways

another case of loud minority
majority of people didn't have any issues with the switch 2 and just bought it

also a lot of stuff that Nintendo was criticized for before the launch are either was a thing in other consoles for ages (there are cases when xbox 360s, ps4s and switch 1s were banned for soft/hard modding; digital games sold as physical are a thing since the 8th gen, except wii u i think) or outright false (mario kart world physical release's msrp is not 90 us dollars, it's 80)

this all just shows the sad state of modern console gaming overall, it's just that nintendo decided to make this all of the stuff mentioned here clear before the launch, which just added salt to the injury from mario kart world going for 80 usd
good thing pc as a gaming platform is eternal

These are exact thoughts I allowed to live rent-free in my head since the launch. Everyone have seen emulators being pressured out of existence by Nintendo, seen Palworld getting it's content cut because of Nintendo, have read or heard numerous stories on Nintendo's war on people who made mods/cheats for single-player titles, there is literally a graveyard-style website at https://www.suedbynintendo.com/.

What answer did proud gamers have for Nintendo?

… more sales! After everything, they brought even more money for Nintendo!

I did not expect Switch 2 to necessarily fail, that would be unrealistic to expect. But then news articles like «Nintendo's Switch 2 Sells 3.5 Million Units In 4 Days, Likely The Biggest Console Launch Of All Time» and like ???. How severe must community's consumerism be to allow this to happen??
