@fm_volker I would guess it's both.
If the hardware is not initialized and in active use, the hardware will only draw minimal power. And then it's indeed the software stack on top, it also activated some beacon support which involves regular polling. I guess it's the combination of everything that causes the additional consumption of approx 1 Watt...
But I admit I didn't further investigate it... I will more likely disable it again, as I currently have no use for it, I was just curious... 😁
