Nature with Steve

The Marbled White #Butterfly (which, despite the species' name and appearance, is one of the ‘Browns’ – a member of the subfamily Satyrinae) is a species I look forward to seeing each Summer. Today I went to Brandon Marsh near Coventry to find out if ‘Marbled White season’ had started there, and was very pleased to find that it has!

@tpeakphotos Thanks Mike! There were not many of these about (not long emerged I think) and if they landed at all they did so deep in the long grass making photography tricky. This one stayed put while I moved a few stems and blades of grass out of the way and allowed me to take a few shots down at Butterfly level!
