Local gym has now all but closed.

Ugh.

If I don't spend time for the gym membership anymore, maybe I should save up ~2k and get a used concept2 #rowerg and a rack of sorts
@ctietze When covid hit, we cancelled our gym memberships and invested in equipment for our home gym a little at a time - as we needed stuff. itโ€™s so much nicer (for us).
@greg I'd love to have a garage/home gym. We have a 4-room apartment, and both work from home, so we have 1 bed room for us + baby, 1 living room that also has the toys, and books, and seating, 1 office for me incl. hardware/tools and weights, 1 small stow-away room as office for my wife. I can't fit a real rack in here :) But I can fit a couple more kettlebell, and maybe something nicer than a door rack for pullups
@ctietze i hear you! space is limited. do you have garage space? there are some nice fold away squat racks that would give you the pull up bar also. i don't recall the cost on them but it's an option. the money you save from monthly membership + travel time to and from make up for it quickly.
@ctietze all that said, i know many people that just can't workout at home. they need the motivation from a public gym. i'm not one of them. give me less people. lol
@ctietze I like going to the gym for a change of scenery, so I'm not into home equipment. However there is an increasing market of "smart home equipment" lately and found it interesting. Perhaps something for you? ๐Ÿ˜„ https://eu.speediance.com/products/speediance-gym-monster-2

@yvg I'd love to leave this one room more often, too :D
@ctietze that is sadly all too common. never pay for a year up front because too many shut down overnight.
@greg We only have monthly renewing memberships in that one, but this is very inconvenient
