Is there any reliable extension, or any way whatsoever, to view two pages side by side in one Librewolf window?

No, I do not want two separate windows (one, because I do not need two identical-but-short top menu bars, and two, because Librewolf saves my last session's tabs, and if I close the wrong window, it will reopen the last session with one tab as opposed to a dozen or whatever).

I've looked through extensions, I DDG'd the question, haven't found anything.

But it seems like such a basic thing, I must be missing something, right?

@oddtail maybe this addon, lets you display several tabs in the same window https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tile-tabs-we/
Tile Tabs WE – Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)

Download Tile Tabs WE for Firefox. Take tabs from parent windows and arrange them in layouts of tiled sub-windows, using the toolbar button, context menu or keyboard shortcuts. Makes it easy to browse, compare or monitor multiple pages. Synchronize scroll. Save and re-open layouts.

@oddtail there used to be, for sure, but I think they made it too difficult to maintain long ago
@oddtail Firefox lets you reopen recently closed windows, which I think persists after closing, so closing the wrong one isn't as disastrous as it used to be. Not sure if LibreWolf is the same. I suspect most people would be happy with two windows, so I'm not optimistic about such an extension existing 🙁

@oddtail

(You can hijack the "Chatbot" sidebar to display any website)

@oddtail I used to use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/tile-tabs-we, albeit it's a bit awkward.

Lack of creature comforts is one of the reasons i'm uninterested in Librewolf, & so prefer my #Floorp12 RC [native tiling] & #FirefoxNightly [defacto tiling via the marvellous #FirefoxSecondSidebar project, whereby i have multiple #WebPanels].

If you really wish to stick with LW, you could use the standard sidebar to temporarily hold one website via the AO https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/side-view/, same time as viewing another site in the main view. Again, a bit clunky, but useful when you have no other options in LW.
