Going to try and save a fish that is caught in a terrible situation. Hopefully, I can beat these terrifying looking storm clouds 😬

Kids in the area are often #fishing in the water channels and ponds around here. They're great kids and just catch & release, but I suspect one of them actually caught something for once... & got their line tangled.

It's about 15" out into the water, and waterways are dangerous. In this one, you cannot tell how deep it is. The water is murky and certainly not safe to be submerged/swimming in. And the sloped concrete edges could be difficult to climb out of.

This poor #fish 😢

I tried calling anyone I thought might be able to help. Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources closed hours ago and has no 24-hour presence. I don't have a boat. I tried grabbing the tree branch, but it was too dangerous and unlikely that I could pull it far enough.

Thank goodness we have a tree pruner at home. #LadyDuchess and I ran home from our walk, and I drove back & was able to get it free.

Wish I could have removed the hook, but hopefully I gave #Fish a fighting chance.
