I think I'm going to abandon my #Duolingo Streak at 2000. I think it's high time for me to hang up those gloves and move onto something better.
Recorded for posterity.

@darac I think you're right. From my experience, things are getting further and further away from their quoted mission of making learning free and fun. It's more of a grind and punishment.

It's difficult to get away from though, it's definitely designed to be addictive. And I don't want to affect anyone else, so I think I'll complete this week's friends run, then stop. 3295 days isn't important if it's not doing good things.

@dh @darac But go where? It’s not perfect but I’m stumped for where to go for Norwegian that isn’t worse than Duolingo at this point.
@twll @dh I'm hoping that Lingonaut works out. Work offer accees to goFluent, but that also seems to be AI-based.
@darac @dh I might poke at Babbel as that’s based in Europe and looks like it has real voices?
@twll @darac That could really help. Listening is definitely the part I find most difficult when in another country, as with Duolingo as my main source of language knowledge, you don't get exposed to much variation on voices. And Sweden and Norway have a /lot/ of variance in actual speech!
@twll @dh Oh, I might give Babbel a try, as I've just seen my employee discount scheme is offering up to 60% off
@darac @dh Alas mine isn’t!
@darac @dh So far I have tried Babbel and Mondly, and I’m more impressed by Mondly.
