Saturday garden photo thread. The squash and melons.

The melons are all doing good and the summer squash have got past their wilting stage but there is still some wilting on the winter squash if I don't give them a good soaking of water in the morning as it starts to warm up.

@firephoto Carrot seeds are so tiny, aren't they? Hard to get the right concentration, and they are slow to germinate. Always a happy moment when you see those delicate pairs of first leaves coming through.
@MelissaBenyon As warm as it's been I was surprised it took more than a week. I've grown carrots successfully once in the ground but not much luck since then but some of that is probably due to the variety or seed quality. I'm hoping the container method works out but it might be too hot for them.
@firephoto It's winter here, but I am hoping to still get some growth. Am trying them in old car tyres, using seed from previous crop. They have come up nicely but too early to tell if they will do well.
@firephoto #BeetBear enjoys growing his carrots in a pot too!
@richrollgardener I'm hoping this is better than the last few attempts at carrots in the ground. We'll see what we have in about 10 weeks!
