The problem isn't that trans people have never questioned our identities. The problem is that cis people won't accept the answer we give them.
@gwynnion I can relate to this as a disabled person with an invisible disability. It’s weird as hell that bigots would decide it makes more sense that I would drop out of my career after working my whole life just so I could be plunged into homelessness and live in poverty for the rest of my life just so I can “sit home all day”, rather than accept my MECFS diagnosis.
Those same bigots think it makes sense that trans people would fight for gender affirming care, and go out every day in a world that harasses them for existing, and for what? Just to get into the women’s bathroom and to play on their sports teams? Nah.
