@nixCraft write all your important files on tmpfs, so nobody can find them when you reboot
@nixCraft that's definitely my strategy... this is exactly what i do, whenever i have to leave my computer open at the office, i open a new workspace and leave it be.
@nixCraft Or just don't install/enable a display manager and don't auto-mount the partition with your data.

@nixCraft sometimes, when you have to cross the border, the staff wants to check the computer for some state critism or whatever. if you refuse to give the password, you can get the pc when you leave the country again.

i am really curious, what would happen in this case or when the computer just boots in terminal

@nixCraft this is basically the parental control I'm setting up in the laptop my younger brother will use this summer to play minecraft with us. Quite literally a minecraft-only laptop unless you know.
@nixCraft I actually use this strategy 👍
@nixCraft
And use custom shortcuts so they can't even look it up in the documentation!
@nixCraft Dvorak Keyboard, enough said…
@nixCraft Controlling everything through #Emacs has a similar effect :)
@nixCraft don't work. When i slept drunk in bar, my wife unblocked computer, found telegram tui client with vim-like controls and whote to my friends to find me. She's not geek by the way
@nixCraft Ctrl-Alt-F2 and I should be in more familiar territory…
@nixCraft have a good optician, so you can set the font size to 8 pixels. So nobody can read your screen even when standing behind you.
@nixCraft me running Hyprland and software remapping every keyboard that connects to Colemak-DH
