#lispyGopherClimate brief and incredibly informal writeup of what I remember from today's live show https://screwlisp.small-web.org/momentary/notes-from-the-show-25-06-04/
#gamedev folks - the notes on rogue (of #roguelike ) are, well, close-to-the-source.
#lisp stuff. #blog . #climateCrisis discussion.

With some apologies to @mdhughes @dougmerritt @schroeder @jasmaz @jeremy_list @spidercat , everyone else.

[Literature on #Lisp.]

John Allen's _The Anatomy of Lisp_.
Indeed.
I made a mistake in forgetting about it.
I have joined those for whom this book is a Good Thing.
In my personal case, one of the things it taught me was to really understand continuations.
(With the Appropriate virtual machine (which takes about a chapter to define, if I recall correctly), the current continuation is "merely" a register.)

@vnikolov @screwlisp
Oh no, I had a horrible mental block on Lambda Moo and cited the name of Paul Graham's book as if that were the title of John Allen's book.

Embarrassing botch. Thank you both for citing the correct title.

@mdhughes Dark.

paying off the original creditors in full is to sell photo.net to NameMedia, ... They have a better revenue split with Google and are able to double the ad revenue immediately.

fall 2016
NameMedia hasn't met its own investors' expectations. Internet advertising revenue for smaller web sites has been devastated by competition from Facebook. Photo.net sold for a tiny fraction of its purchase price to Creative Live, a VC-funded company that seeks to promote tutorial videos.

@screwlisp @mdhughes Was that Phil Greenspun's photo site?
@0x0ddc0ffee
Yeah, the tragic ending of the dotcom era I guess!
