A fellow coach I was talking to was really distressed.

He offers high-ticket 1-on-1 coaching, but prospects book meetings and don’t show up.

He asked for help.

But he didn’t like the solution I gave him.

And I really think you shouldn’t repeat his mistake.

When I asked how he ensured attendance, he said:
“I send a reminder 3–6 hours before the call, and one an hour before.”

I told him point blank — this is a flawed mechanism.

Here’s what I recommend instead:
✅ First reminder: 24 hours before the meeting – ask for confirmation.

✅ Second reminder: 10–12 hours before – if no reply, say clearly:
“Meeting will happen only after confirmation.”

✅ Third reminder: 3 hours before – say:

“If you don’t confirm in the next 30–60 minutes, the slot will be canceled.”

👉 And cancel if they don’t reply.

Because if someone can’t respect your time or authority before becoming a client, what makes you think they’ll respect you as a coach after?

As I told him — stop doing business with people you won’t enjoy working with.

He didn’t like that.

But I’m curious: What’s your process to ensure prospects show up on time for discovery or strategy calls?
