Representative Emmer,

I am writing to ask you to support all of the clean energy provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act, including the Electric Vehicle tax credit. The clean energy provisions are good policy that are helping us move to a cleaner energy future. Please resist any attempts by fossil fuel interests to weaken or overturn them.

Sincerely, MB

@MarkBrigham Ok. Cool. I’d rather the #EV tax credit went to zero emissions mass transit and the 15-minute city(except for #EV fleets). #congestion #carbonfootprint

@gdsherif Hey, I’m with you on that. But we can do all of the above (including EVs for where mass transit just won’t work).

Just gotta quit prioritizing tax cuts for the billionaire class and tax the sh¡t out of them instead. I mean, the ability of anyone to amass a fortune in excess of, say, $50M is an indicator of layers of policy failures.

And get the #OilyBoys money out of politics.

@gdsherif But they R’s in Congress want to double down on fossil fuel addiction and car dependency. It sickens me.

Not only do they want to disappear the EV tax credit, they want to institute a Federal EV tax (many states already have one).

Ok, it’s a user fee. But what is abjectly stupid about it is the feds would charge a higher EV tax than the average monster truck or SUV pays in federal gas taxes in a year. It’s completely punching down on EV owners.
