[…] Since the beginning of the war, over 50,000 people have already been murdered in Gaza, when we know that at least 80% of them are civilians. This is without mentioning the destruction of infrastructure, homes, hospitals and schools and the massive starvation. This is a concentration camp where systematic and murderous extermination is taking place. And Tel Aviv University, which enjoys pretending to be 'opposition to the regime,' remains silent.

Rubin contends that Tel Aviv University displays hypocrisy by advocating for academic freedom and democratic values when its own interests are at stake, yet remains silent or actively suppresses opposition to Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.

Beyond mere silence, the institution actively suppresses dissent by relocating student protests, excluding activists like David Margalit from campus, and pressuring faculty against speaking on topics deemed outside the consensus.

The university’s partnerships with military industries and government entities make it complicit in the ongoing military operations, which is even worse.
