Ugh...I'm already dreading what job searching looks like.

LinkedIn...Good grief horrible. Professional Facebook? Why?

Working on updating the resume and I already want to punch myself in the face.

Me: how do I convey "I love pulling on threads. I'm actually very good at it. I find shit that I shine a lite on. I then work to determine mitigation and/or remediation strategies. I follow up that shit is being fixed. I point out when shit is still shit cause no one prioritizes fixing shit. Rinse and repeat."

@Diami03 I fully refused to use LinkedIn or Facebook for job hunting these past 6 months. still got a job. it's not mandatory.
@gsuberland What was your strategy for job hunting? I *want* to rely heavily on my network but that isn't entirely realistic in these times where it seems EVERYONE is out of work.
@Diami03 network plus manual searching of job listings. the fedihired/getfedihired hashtags got me quite a few leads. ngl though, the market is shit right now, and I did get lucky with the right combo of knowing folks and an ideal position opening up.
@gsuberland Luck...yeah that sums up most of my work history. Thanks
@Diami03 I sent you a DM with our company's hiring site. There is currently a Senior SIEM (Splunk) opening, but we will have GRC stuff at some point... LinkedIn has been tolerated garbage for me, I use it solely as a Rolodex of contacts. Posting on it was garbage... I did loooots of cold applying since I was new, which sucks. Fingers crossed and cheering for you from the sidelines!
