The inexorable rise of unaccountable ‘think tanks’ - this time muddying the waters around disposable vapes.

A pretty web site, no information about funding and little about the people involved

Given the director and his history, I suspect an industry funded business with the intention of scuppering any attempts to control disposable vapes.

@Wen “Edging towards a police state”. Sigh.

@Wen I wish I understood what all the fuss is about. Why is it so bad to have a reusable vape?

I mean to me it's still a mystery why one wants to get addicted to nicotine, it's hardly a real fun drug. Puff this and feel normal again, don't and we'll make you anxious...

Anyhow, why the disposable issue? Why not have nice similarly priced reusable ones?

I must be old and missing something....

@donty Well this is really all about ‘lobbying’ (read lies) from companies who wish to keep on selling the grossly wasteful disposable vapes.

@Wen I never really got the idea of disposable as being good.

It's always signalled something slightly compromised and second rate. I can't understand why they passionately want something second rate.

Maybe people pretend to themselves they are so busy they don't have time to take care, think or plan - when in fact we really can't afford not to.

Marketing spin and profit drive - fast and furious with no direction but down.

@donty I don’t understand it - a combination of waste and cost 🤨
