The local barbers always try to engage me in a conversation about football. The nicest thing I have to say about football is that it doesn't interest me.
I've had my hair cut by women for the last 20yrs. A friend of the family and neighbour to my folks used to do it, I'd even make a 50 miles round trip as she used to come to my mums house to do hers, even 15yrs after they moved to another town.
When I moved here, I found a hairdressers that also did mens hair... all the others are 'Turkish' barbers and I've been to a few and never enjoyed the experience at all... Especially when the tried to put wax up my nose and in my ear without asking... fuck right off with that shit.
Like most introverts, once I've gotten to know a person who cuts my hair every 6 weeks and my beard every 3 weeks... We can get chatty, she plays football for the local team and just lost out winning the league this year by 1 point. She asks about the DIY stuff I'm doing.
That's ok now.
