I heard a rumor that there was a reality show in Demmark called something like Gay Army, where they took the gayest men they could find in Denmark, and basically put them through army boot camp and then they had to fight a fake battle against the real army in the finale.

Am I being tricked?

I'm not sure how they figured out which men were the gayest, but I'm interested to know.

@RickiTarr

check the blood for jizzichlorian levels, qui-gon style.

@RickiTarr I'm so not going there.
@RickiTarr They have a gayometer. The device has a feedback with a high-pitched voice that plays a musical sample and lights up in rainbow colors when you hold it over something gayish (like guinea pigs, dolphins, pink shirts, ticklish mustaches or cocktails)
@Pistolenkind @RickiTarr
Okay but now I wonder:
Is it a GAY-o-meter?
Or a gay-OM-eter?
@RickiTarr Probably a bubble sort, given the laziness of the overall concept.

@RickiTarr

They probably used a regular gayger-counter.

@RickiTarr I used to go to the pub with about 15 gay blokes in my days squatting in London. You knew who the gayest one was because he was the one everyone called Queenie. He was 6'4", built like an outhouse, and the most extravagantly gay man I've ever met 🤣
@RickiTarr Oh, c'mon people...it's obviously Gaydar. The answer is Gaydar.
@RickiTarr
Seriously, did they have some kind a gay-off competition for contestants? I'm not sure how it is today but back in the 90s gay men were somenof the best fighters I knew. They had to deal with violent attacks and learned how to defend themselves. I used to hang out with a gay friend at a gay bar and saw straight dudes get their asses handed to them because they assumed, incorrectly, that gay men were weak and couldn't fight. I doubt TV boot camp would have been a challenge to them.
@RickiTarr Using a gayscale, of course 🐦👽🐘🐺🦍🌚
@RickiTarr
I guess they are treating gay and camp as the same thing.
Also I think people always underestimate how many gay people are already in the military.
@RickiTarr It's basically the looping intro to typical homosexual pornography with a shallow plot.

@RickiTarr

All that group showering, I assumed they were all..........

@RickiTarr
Do you remember the interior designer in Northern Exposure who had completed a full career with the Marines?
And then, in real life, I have a friend who served in the Army during the Vietnam War before he came out.

@RickiTarr
You would think these Nazis would have learned from the lesson of Willem Arondeus, Dutch hero of the resistance to the original Nazis.

But I guess Nazis ban books instead of reading them.

@drgroftehauge @SuneAuken The early 2000's had some pretty wild reality shows.

I have an ex-metamour from one of those countries where you have to do a year of military service or whatever. He said he cried when they did rifle training. I probably would too.

@RickiTarr the show has a wikipedia page, also in Norwegian and Swedish - but not in Danish.

@RickiTarr This sounds like good television

@adhdeanasl
I would TOTALLY watch this show.
Bring it back!
Bring it back!
Bring it back!

@RickiTarr

@RickiTarr This is one of those things where the importance of believing it's true transcends the actual truth.

@RickiTarr ever hear about Sparta?

Most macho army ever. So macho, that Spartan women dressed like boys to help their husbands get erections.
