- We've already seen shit that cracked #Windowy8Bing, #Windows10S and #Windows11Home wide open with #Adware that also disables #WindowsDefender.
Next logical step is some #PowerShell script that downloads a #Linux distro image, repartition the system drive, add some unallocated space at the end, put a #CloudInit config in it and then do an #UnattendedInstall of said system with bcd by calling up #bcdedit to #chainload said partition.
- I jist have neither the time nor spoons to do that shit myself, but in theory a #NetInstaller image of ~ 100MB should suffice...
@kkarhan I'm ganna be real with you. The fact that I understood [maybe] 90% of that response must make me sound insane to some. Perhaps fiction isn't the word I should have used, but theoretical. Because, damn, I'd be so curious if that was even feasible with our technology.

One can repartition Windows installations on the fly whilst running (and even then there are tools like #Wubi that made it easy to setup #dualboot #Linux & #Windows.
- ISOLINUX does allow for "load image into RAM and boot" setups. I literally use that on @OS1337 because no system that can boot it will have > 16 MB RAM anyway ( 8 MB is the hard limit for bare linux kernel) so merely making Windows' bootloader to chainload #isolinux to load that image in RAM and yeet it isn't out of the question.
I just have neither a #Windows machine nor time and spoons to make such a tool, much less to basically create even said #ProofOfConcept "#Malware"…

@mrgrumpymonkey Obviously I'm not into #MalwareDevelopment (even tho I'd not consider a "#MigrationWare" that forcibly replaces #Windows with #Linux malicious per-se, it's certainly violating #consent and thus is #malware!) simply because that isn't being appreciated in my juristiction and I do kinda need a clean record to be employable in the only field I'm decent in.
- But hey, someone else can do that...
