EU is getting closer to hitting 2030 climate and energy targets!

Thanks to stronger action across Member States, by 2030 we are now on track to:

✅ Cut net greenhouse gas emissions by 55%
✅ Reach at least 42.5% renewable energy

We’re committed to continuing the clean energy transition while prioritising industrial competitiveness and social fairness. 🌍

We will keep working together with the Member States to close the remaining gaps.

@ariaflame @EUCommission Shifting the responsibility to the consumer is the easy marketing trick to not force the main CO2 Emitters to change. I can totally assure you that i neither own lear jets nor an airline, do not fly generally, don't own a petrol company and am not the heir of a car producer. Yet, you want me to do more in the 0.00001 percent area. THAT will help.

@SalemsLot @EUCommission Well, what do you expect them to do? Wave a magic wand? Do you individually make a difference? No. If everyone made a small change would it make a difference? Yes. If everyone made bigger changes it would help even more. Do you want them to make all the changes so you don't have to put in any effort? Never mind, this is pointless. It's late, I'm tired and I've listened to far too many presentations about people actually proposing things to try today.

@ariaflame @EUCommission I understand your tiredness. Now imagine how anyone politically active feels while the fossile industry is endlessly shaking hands with representatives. I expect them to not be corrupt and actually save us. Thats tiring, because its not happening. Instead we let all the main emitters off the hook and tell the masses to put more effort in it. Its a comedy.

@EUCommission Yes, and in 2024 the CO2 share in Atmosphere increased by 4ppm versus only 2ppm is previous years. Forests do not absorb any longer and the sea is almost saturated. This is justice: the babyboomers belief, that they will not be punished by increasingly severe and heavy disasters, is not true any longer.
