A ★★★ review of Broken Rage (2024)

What a delightfully weird little crime comedy. Beat Takeshi is clearly having the time of his life both behind the camera and in front of it in this film, which tells the same story twice in wildly different ways. Sure, this is slight and there isn't much more than what's on the page. But who cares when you get to see Takeshi with a little mouse nose saying "Squeak!" Obviously this isn't going to work for everyone, it's got some absurdist stuff going on and it takes a while to show its hand. But I had fun with it.
