#NowPlaying my favorite Psychic TV LP, 'Towards Thee Infinite Beat' from 1990. This one is some wild acid house, a truly bizarre but unforgettable one from Genesis P (RIP). I like this one so much because it has a little bit of a Coil feel but of course that inevitable Throbbing Gristle feel, too, and it's all wrapped up in this great, trance-y acid house package. LOVE this one.

@jake4480 Ooo I bookmarked this and am now listening, love it!!!
@jake4480 The Ian Curtis bit in "I.C. Water"!
@buffyleigh I had been meaning to go back and revisit my favorite Throbbing Gristle stuff (heard my favorite of theirs, 20 Jazz Funk Greats? https://throbbinggristle.bandcamp.com/album/20-jazz-funk-greats) and Psychic TV was always so cool, what Gen did afterwards, he was a true innovator. RIP. Never realized Psychic TV has like, 100 albums haha - this one has always been my fave though. So wild

@jake4480 Whoa! I have both of those bands on my list to do deep dives on, I imagine it will take a while then!
@buffyleigh haha YES Psychic will take you longer. TG has some cool stuff, some REALLY rough, raw stuff, the live stuff is especially - but that one I linked, 20 Jazz Funk, you can really heat where Gen took it with Psychic TV happening, when they were branching off, and of course Peter went off to form the perfection that is Coil when TG broke up too haha
@jake4480 Ahh yes, I have Coil on my list too!

@buffyleigh Coil are a RIDICULOUS love of mine haha - have we talked about them? Love their early 80s stuff, some was quite raw/industrial and Love's Secret Domain and Stolen and Contaminated Songs are my 2 faves of theirs (I like their later more ambient stuff, too). Might even love Stolen more than Love's at this point. I listen to it OFTEN haha. But my favorite Coil thing is this, this is what got me hooked on them, aside from knowing Trent was a fan - 12 some minutes of sonic perfection, feels like 2 or 3, check the instruments going in and out. I've listened to this hundreds of times. Thousands? Probably, at this point haha. I'm like, beyond obsessed with this song, easily one of my favorite pieces of music any human has ever created.

@jake4480 Cool, will check out! I'm sure we've chatted about them before, back when I got all obsessed with NIN, lol! I've dipped my toe in here and there since but haven't sat down to seriously listen yet.
@buffyleigh hahaha. Yeah, I hear ya. It's a lot! I mean, I discovered Coil in the mid 90s, and TG after that, all from nin originally, Trent had mentioned Coil in an interview. And then of course Coil remixed nin on Fixed. Such a lovely web of musical brilliance
