@EllenB a phone number you can get a confirmation code from, at least on the day you make the reservation (same with if you choose to use an email address).
The White House is in zip code is 20500 I believe, so in DC and entirely plausible for someone going to the parade. In fact, we at least one person who lives in that zip code is actually planning to be there.
