A ★ review of Under the Same Sky (2025)

Films about Russia’s war in Ukraine [English] Culture in times of war - with this premise in mind, Polish filmmaker Kacper Wissuwa travels through Ukraine and interviews artists in Kyiv. What they all have in common is that they consider cultural projects to be more important than ever, perhaps precisely as an alternative to simply continuing to live and die. Unfortunately, the interesting aspect is thwarted by the poor craftsmanship. The quality of the mixing and editing needs to be improved. Perhaps the material is inadequate, but some of the interviews do not lead to any meaningful resolution of issues.
