still on the #musou train. stepped away from #fireemblem warriors today because it is getting a little complicated and jumped back into #dynastywarriors #gundam 3. quite enjoying it and amazed at what #rpcs3 is capable of.

i don't think that the gundam musou is any less complicated than the fire emblem one, i've just kind of gotten myself into a space of decision paralysis with the latter.

@hobbsc Your post reminded me that I never played any #musou games. So I looked around my PS+ account for an included one and played 1.5h of Samurai Warriors 5. What a bizarre genre but... I kinda like it.
@citizen428 games in the genre often get poor reviews but that typically seems to be because the reviewers/public think that chopping through lots of low powered enemies is a slog. the gameplay is slightly more nuanced than that, though.
@hobbsc Yeah, I played just enough of it to get to the point where it gets more interesting with the base, the blacksmith, etc. I haven't yet formed an opinion, need to play more of this, I'm intrigued.

@citizen428 i've not played that particular title but several of the dynasty warriors titles are quite good. a lot of folks think 4 is the best.

there are also several franchise crossovers (as is probably apparent by my previous posts). some of these mashups are more dynasty warriors in the franchise while others are more franchise in the dynasty warriors.

some quick searching will yield endless lists of titles for you to check out.

@hobbsc Being the nerd that I am, I already have a list of games in the genre that I would like to play if I end up liking it 😂 Hyrule Warriors DE, Fire Emblem Warriors, One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 & 4, Dynasty Warriors 7 XL.& Origins.

@citizen428 i have never played the hyrule warriors game because i'm not a zelda/nintendo fan but it has received high praise and was frequently recommended to me.

fire emblem warriors on the 3ds is an absolute masterpiece in my opinion. it is sooo good. i haven't tried it on the switch, though.
