Nature with Steve

Yesterday my brother @rob_camera and I paid our first visit Upton Warren nature reserve in #Worcestershire – here are a few of the #birds I saw and photographed. Our day ended with sightings of another bird, spotted by others in the Avocet Hide, and identified by me - more about that (plus some rubbish pics!) in my reply to this post.

More about that other bird, and rubbish pics as promised. Asked what the #bird on the other side of the Second Flash pool was, I took a look using my camera with its zoom lens. I had a feeling I knew what it was from its shape and movements; my pics, though poor, confirmed it: a Red-necked #Phalarope! I reported the bird via the number on a notice in the hide, and lots more birders soon joined us with their 'scopes to view this rarity. She has now continued her migration, possibly to Scotland.
