Time to change from a big train to a significantly smaller one! I used the time in Pieksämäki to grab a bite to eat for lunch as well as something to drink for the 2hrs on this little railcar which is taking me to Joensuu.

There’s a big supermarket next to the station which sells meals at the back so I had some shredded baked potatoes in a creamy sauce with ham - €3.66 for 240g which was good value! #Finland

The train departs 7 minutes late. And it is very busy for a single coach train - could easily do with two.
@Kilometer780 This particular "kiskobussi" has always been very busy, but especially on friday and sunday evenings with university students. It wasn't one or two times I had to sit on the floor back in the day ...
@paxed Blimey. Reminds me many years ago when my work involved trains through Lincoln: Friday afternoon trains from there to Peterborough were the same. Single carriage train with lots of students heading home for the weekend using the cheaper route via Sleaford and Spalding to get to London instead of changing in Newark which was much more expensive!

@Kilometer780 Oh, you do know about juliadata, right? I like their live map, which doesn't filter out any trains, unlike the VR live map

@paxed I didn’t no. That’s a great site! Thank you
@Kilometer780 Oh, you're in for a treat. 😆 Hopefully you can figure it out even though it's in Finnish.
