During my first work-related burnout (which I didn't know I had experienced) I, as a junior software developer at that time, inquired my management during the perf review iteration if they can raise my salary a bit without all that title hassle.
Instead of just saying no, they went into the lengths describing how bad my performance was, how unreliable I was, and offered me to resign.
Which I did, for the good in the hindsight.
I say, focus on the bottom tier of Maslow's pyramid & once everyone has that stuff, keep moving up a tier at a time. Fund that by a 5% wealth tax on #Billionaires
