Why don't people simply identify as human?

Maggie Maybe@jeffowski @gdsherif back in the 90s I hung out with some Irish dudes who insisted that Italians were half black, therefore the Irish Boston guys wouldn’t associate with the Italian Boston guys. They had a derogatory name for Italians that I don’t remember. “Half a (something beginning with an M?)”
So even pure blood Italians are not considered white by the racists. I think they had opinions about Greek people as well, but they didn’t clash with those guys.
@maggiejk @jeffowski I sometimes wonder if race and class are ways to divide workers. Sure, American dark-skinned folk claim the “B” as in Black, and that’s cool. My biological people are Irish Catholic, Ukrainian Jewish, and Albanian/Sudanese Moslem by way of Egypt (Kemet).

@jeffowski If sexual orientation was a choice I would not be attracted to men. I was going to say that human women are the only species who date their only natural predator, but I’m sure that’s incorrect. Male Praying mantis’ seek a mate even though she will eat their head after.
But otherwise I think it’s just us.
