Ha!

On #BBC breakfast a journalist compared Jarvis Cocker to #Bowie!

Serious! What book are you plugging music 'journalist'?
This interview sounds like a journalist saying "Jarvis is my best friend, you know!"

Not true!

The journalist claimed that the US didn't get #BritPop because it was quirky and kitchen sink.

I think the US just had better bands. The US had #SlackerRock, pioneered by bands like #Pavement which is not too dissimilar to Brit Pop, just generally better. The difference is Pavement were good and experimental.

Brit Pop was primarily pop and dull, while bands like Pavement mostly shunned the more radio friendly sound - at least initially.

And of course, the US had #REM #Pixies etc, etc.

@fernsehmuell Strangely, not all that much improvement to that sound.
