Oof! Saying it like it is - Ireland a big problem for #bigtech collusion:

"Forget Greenland, Ireland is the North Atlantic island the U.S. already owns. And when it comes to tech, Dublin is Trump’s Trojan horse." 😬

If you live in Ireland please write to your TD to say you want the link with Big Tech weakened.

@PeopleVsBigTech

Ireland is Trump’s Trojan horse

If Brussels is serious about maintaining the integrity of its tech rules, it needs to focus on shifting regulation away from Dublin.

POLITICO

@patrickleavy It's more like the #EuropeanUnion has a problem here. Ireland seems to be enjoying its highly profitable position.

It's weird. Almost all the Irish people I know are either admirable or OK, but the country... has no sense of collective responsibility.

@demi7en yeah it's weird. The EU has to centralise GDPR regulation.

Something like 15% of Irish jobs are with #bigtech companies, so not an easy thing to unravel 😬

@patrickleavy Minds can be bloody weird too. You mentioned 15% of Irish toiling for the techbros and mine strangely began picturing a scene from Brazil ("the motion picture")!

But it gets worse, the next thing popping was RFK Jr. (just saw a toot moments prior) and... 🥁

"Every germ is sacred!"

I must have a pythonic worm between my ears...

@demi7en putting RFK in your mind alongside big tech dependency is terrifying!

Indeed I wonder what the Monty Python crew would make of today's world 🤔
