The republicans have put language in this most recent budget bill that deliberately targets trans people.

To be explicit:

Preventing trans people from getting care is as lethal as preventing diabetics from getting care.

It is -your- responsibility to call your senators - both of them - to demand that this bill not pass.

It is your responsibility to do this because you, as the majority, have the actual power in this relationship; trans people depend on your ethical and moral choices in order to stay alive, because we are in a very small minority and cannot meaningfully influence this process.

If you fail in this responsibility, people will die, and it will be, collectively, your fault.

I am watching your actions, as are other members of the community.

If you don't like this, then imagine how much I dislike your cis compatriots supporting legislation that is specifically targeted to kill me and the people I care about.

Fucking fix your shit.

BREAKING: Republicans pass ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ stripping transgender Americans of health care

The Human Rights Campaign called the bill "cruel."

Yahoo News
I am specifically watching who boosts this post, to see whether or not the cis followers I have take this message seriously and accept that it is correct.
@munin I'm sorry, I'm of no help in MA. (they're both on board with keeping humans safe 99.9% of the time)

@NosirrahSec

This is the senate. Your senators have plenty of tools to block bills from proceeding. You have no excuse.

@munin I have no problem calling them, then.

(For those in MA)
Ed Markey is at 617-565-8519
Elizabeth Warren at (617) 565-3170

@munin Well that was an experience. I've never done that before. Do they even listen/read these? (I imagine an aide will print it out and present them, if at all.)

@NosirrahSec

Sometimes. If they get enough. Especially if the numbers are high.

@munin It is throughly disgraceful, more so for the fact that this meanness and hatred gains nobody anything. It's just cultural signaling, at the expense of real people.

(I wish I had senators, but, well, I live in the taxation without representation place).

@mattblaze

Tell your colleagues who have senators to cut this shit out.

This is my life and the lives of people I care about that are directly endangered, right now, and I have zero inclination to give anybody a pass on this.

@munin
What's the bill number? The article didn't include it.
@munin happy to do so but please understand: i live in missouri.

@dave_cochran

Trans people live in missouri too. They are your neighbors. They depend on your voice to speak up for them to counter the narrative being pushed by the republicans.

We don't get to have a voice here, but you do. Use it.

@munin i understand and agree.
@munin i did the calling thing with the phone and the assholes and the standing up
@munin @dave_cochran I live in Missouri and I am transgender. Can't leave for multiple reasons. Wish I could.
@munin cough cough cough cough...

@munin I am volunteering cycles for causes and donating what I can including my time and my specific skillsets.

It has been PURE HORROR trying to help friends navigate this inhuman campaign of wanton sadistic cruelty.

heartless. soulless. godless.
when life give you a nazi, you make nazi-aid (with whatever the fuck is handy).

stretch, hydrate, punch with a straight wrist. 👍

@munin I called both senators from Illinois and left one voicemail and had to send an email to one because of repeated hang ups due to high call volume. This bill is disgusting in every way.
@munin As a transgender person living in and receiving care in Missouri, there is a high probability that I'm already on a watch list from the many times the state government has borderline illegally solicited medical records, including from psychologists and psychiatrists regarding anything and everything related to gender affirming care for minors and adults. They almost stealth made it illegal for anyone diagnosed with autism to be ineligible for transgender related care a couple of years ago by having the DA or ADA (can't remember which) do some underhanded stuff.
This is the same state where the voters voted to keep abortion legal, increase minimum wage, and guarantee time off for workers and the governor is salivating at the bit waiting for the laws they are writing to overturn them to come across his desk so he can sign them into law.
What I'm saying is, please take this seriously.
These people will not stop until every non-wealthy, non-white, non-male, non-Christofascist is under the boot.
Trans people, women, immigrants, and the working class are the current targets, but it won't stop.
They are speed running through the "first they came for" poem.
Please, please, please speak up while you still can.
Please stick your foot out.
Please make a phone call.
It's too dangerous for me to do it.
I can't afford to risk it.
I don't expect anyone to stand up for me because nobody cares what happens to a tr*nny.
Make a liar out of me.
@munin Maine is a battleground and know that we’re on the front lines and fighting the good fight.
@munin Just now I called my two Senators, Smith and Klobuchar, to vote against this bill.

@munin I am going to poop in the punch bowl here.

I support your right to exist and get support you need to do so. It’s too late to call, but I can call in the morning.

And I boosted this. I’m not sure that I can do much more, but I’m inclined to do so because it’s the right thing.

Having said all that, I bristle at being blamed and snapped at for a problem I didn’t cause, tried to prevent, and am mostly powerless to solve. This shitty situation isn’t my fault, but you are telling me to “fix my shit.” I know it’s your anger coming through, and you have every reason to be angry, but maybe not direct your anger at your allies.

There are people that won’t write you, but they won’t help you either, possibly because of this post’s blaming nature.

If you (or anyone else) comes back at me and gives me shit about this, it will be a quick block, and then I won’t read your pleas for help.

@Blueteamsherpa @munin ... you good?
literally https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tone_policing how is anyone still like this?! @munin anyway. Thank you for writing the OP. I hope you have a lovely day, or at least calm and restorative.
Tone policing - Wikipedia

@MxVerda

Yeah, I don't care for tone policing. That individual can fuck right off into the garbage can.

@MxVerda @munin I want to see trans people not targeted. So no, I’m not good.

I understand the passion. I’m next, as a gay man.

I’ve learned that tone can make a difference in rallying allies, hence the message I sent.

I wish there would have been a clearer way to say I am an ally (read the rest of all I’ve done maybe?) and that what I said wasn’t to demean or disregard the overall message.

@Blueteamsherpa @munin respectfully, FUCK you. trans people are actively being targetted for fucking eradication and you want to come lecture us about TONE? Block me you fucking shitlord. But let this sit with you that this is how you chose to act.
@dragonminded @munin I know you’re targeted. I’m next. I’m trying to help. You can’t see that.

@dragonminded @munin ok. Since you favorited this I was wrong (or maybe not then, but now). You can see that I was trying to help. And you’re worth it.

I wish you weren’t in danger.

@munin Both of my senators have already expressed disgust over this bill, which my representative in the House voted against. But I have sent them messages to make sure they know I support their opposition.
@munin Sent my emails. Will call tomorrow.
@munin
Most of us don't have a senator, still boosting tho
