Cosmic brownie points if it's not because of the environment, data privacy, or copyright. Those are all super valid reasons, but I've heard them before.

@dnsprincess the slop. so much slop. nothing can be trusted anymore. even ignoring the AI answers on the search result, so many of the actual pages that come up are rambling, incoherent LLM nonsense.

@mrsbeanbag @dnsprincess Seconded. LLMs have largely automated creating junk “content” to sell ads. It has been coming so much faster that it’s drowning out all the real information. The problem is especially bad when looking for anything remotely exotic. There are 20+ junk pages for every page with a correct explanation or answer.
